The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Islamic Finance (APPGIF) was relaunched as the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Islamic and Ethical Finance (APPGIEF) in 2023.

The APPGIEF holds regular meetings with stakeholders, engages with Government, undertakes activities to progress the domestic Islamic finance market in the UK and seeks to reinforce the UK’s position as the Western hub for Islamic finance. The APPGIEF also encourages engagement with other faith communities on their codes of ethics in finance.

Since inception, the Islamic Finance Council UK (UKIFC) acts as Secretariat to the APPGIEF, providing this support on a pro bono basis.  In 2025, the Riba Free Foundation kindly facilitated volunteer support to assist the UKIFC team with the administrative tasks.

Islamic finance is a system of finance that complies with the ethical codes of Islam. Islamic financial services in the UK provides services to Muslim consumers in the UK and corporate financial services for those in the UK and beyond.
